A short dictionary for the recently arrived.
New here? These are the words you will hear most often around the station, and what they actually mean.
- Soup
- The station's primary care infrastructure. Also, occasionally, a meal.
- The Ladle
- The ceremonial serving implement. Returns to its hook. No exceptions.
- Hallway 3
- A famously smooth corridor. Stable. Not an invitation.
- Pebble
- A small object carrying a disproportionate amount of feeling.
- Emotional Weather
- The station's inner climate. Forecast daily. Dress accordingly.
- Belonging Permit
- Documentation that you are, in fact, part of this. Always pre-approved.
- Support Sardine
- An emotional-support fish authorized for anxious customs crossings.
- Quiet Corner
- A designated low-pressure zone. Blankets provided. Volume discouraged.
- The Orb
- An object in the Experimental Wing. Reported to be "mostly fine."
- Doing Fine
- May include actual stability, moderate overwhelm, or imminent soup requirement.
- Adaptive Stability
- Staying together by repairing things on purpose, repeatedly, with care.
