Chapter 5 of 11

Customs & Return

Some belong by documentation. Some by showing up again.

The Office of Customs & Emotional Transit handles arrivals, departures, and the harder category in between: coming back. This chapter covers what every traveler should know.

Declaring What You Carry

All travelers declare what they are carrying inside. "Nervous but hopeful" is the most common entry and is always accepted. Nothing you declare is ever confiscated; the declaration itself is the point.

The Right to Return

A traveler returning is a traveler arriving. There are no questions about where you have been. If you ever feel unsure whether you still belong here, a belonging permit is pre-approved and waiting at the window.

Transit Courtesies

  • All feelings are declarable. None are denied entry.
  • Support sardines are available for anxious crossings. They take the job seriously.
  • The Slow Lane has unlimited minutes and no line behind you.
  • Lost seals are found. This is policy, not merely hope. (It is also hope.)
