Chapter 9 of 11Quiet Hours & Rest
Rest is not a reward for finishing. It is part of the work.
Rest is not earned by completing everything; it is part of how the work gets done at all. The station maintains Quiet Corners and observes Quiet Hours so every creature can power down without apology.
Quiet Corners
Designated low-pressure zones, stocked with blankets, where volume is discouraged and no one will ask you to be okay. You may use them with or without a reason. "I just need a minute" is a complete reservation.
Observing Quiet Hours
During posted Quiet Hours, slide gently, speak softly, and let sleeping seals sleep. The station runs better on a crew that has actually rested.
Rest Protocols
- Naps are operational, not optional. A rested seal is a safe seal.
- Do not wake a napping creature to ask if it is tired.
- Blankets are shared infrastructure. Return them warm.
- If you cannot rest, sit in a Quiet Corner anyway. Stillness counts.
